Elderly at my church say I’ve been given a gift— a gift is just that, something you don’t earn but receive. So, in the first person it's nothing that I claim, although I do.... A top NZ player once said I'm a “natural,” though not directly to me, but I’m far from the best in NZ! Dad & I often played Dutch Draughts, but its limitations led me to chess, So, dad is my ultimate connection to the game. At around 12, I joined The Otago Chess Club, fully expecting to be Champion the moment I walked in ~ Nope!
