Info
I was lucky to be born on a small dairy farm in eastern Finland and spend my childhood there surrounded by wild nature. My homestead was farmed with traditional, even old-fashioned farming methods. I spend days exploring nature with the curiosity of a child. There was limitless things to wonder and learn in nature. There was huge variety of life everywhere. The surrounding nature became an insurable part of me, who I am, how I act and what is important to me.
Then the restructuring of agriculture made small family farms like my homestead unprofitable both in Finland an worldwide. Small fields farmed and grazed for centuries in harmony with nature, with rich variety of organisms, changed to large blocks of one crop. Entire way of life almost completely disappeared, along with the rich habitat it created.
I am one of the few who still try to maintain the old way of farming on a small family farm, one of the last, the very last of the Mohicans.
