Info
Research in Practice is a group for researchers and collaborators in the architecture-engineering-construction (AEC) industry setup by Dr Jacqueline Baker when she transitioned to a practice-based research role after spending 8 years at Monash University.
Most of Jacqueline's career and education in Australia and the UK focuses on quantitative environment-behaviour research in sectors such as property, residential, workplace, healthcare, education, infrastructure, landscape and sports. Using an economic valuation technique for non-market goods and services, Jacqueline's PHD thesis researched User Preferences for Build-To-Rent and Build-To-Sell Apartments in Australia. Her expertise assists medium to large scale commercial, retail and residential real-estate and property owners and developers to quantify how prospective buyers and tenants trade-off and prioritize design, amenity and location features when choosing from property alternatives.
