Kim Sydow Campbell, PhD, is a linguist who studies workplace language. Dr. Kim's goal is to empower people by discovering and sharing the truth about communication. She joined the Department of Technical Communication at the University of North Texas in 2016, where she now serves as Director of Corporate Relations, and was previously on the faculties of the University of Alabama, the Air Force Institute of Technology, and Auburn University. For more than 10 years, she was Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication. She earned her PhD at Louisiana State University in 1990 with a dissertation titled: Theoretical and Pedagogical Applications of Discourse Analysis to Professional Writing. Dr. Kim has published 30-odd research articles and 3 books, with a focus on * Style in professional writing, especially plain language and tone in sensitive situations * White papers as content marketing * Leadership communication
