The Peaks’ first album, Out of the Box, flows vibrantly, excitedly, from some lofty height of musical seerdom, a river of irrepressible passion, relentlessly surging through the wasteland of contemporary Rock. The lyrics have that classical quality of lyrical simplicity wedded to great depths of feeling- echoes of a golden past, of colonnaded melodies and riveting lyrics, aching like crystalline spires for an unbarricaded sky. Peaks’ music, like their name, is, indeed, lofty- inspired, yes, gripped by a melodic driving that embodies a sense desperate searching, of true passion. -review by Mark Turner, BBC, London
